Entertainment, Events and Bookings

The Morrissey House is dedicated to bring you something different.  The music that gets played on a regular basis is a mix of jazz, northern soul, Britpop, 80′s, downtempo, indie alternative, and a little R&B as well- not your everyday play list!  All easy to listen to, always in the background as we place a premium on conversation, and if you find yourself enjoying a song, we’ll know what it is and how you can find it, and if we don’t, we’ll find someone in the bar that does!

Monday nights we have our Pub Quiz.  The Morrissey does fill up on this night, so try to arrive early.  Questions start at 7:30pm and usually last until about 9:30ish.  We play in teams, and you are more than welcome to come out and play by yourself, or join in with another group.  Maximum is 5, but you can bring more out, we just deduct points at the end for having extra people.  Two picture rounds, a music round, and a good mix of questions on pop culture, geography, history, arts and literature, and every once in a while we throw in a sports question too!

Tuesday is Wing Night- actually, all day and night.  We do serve up London’s best baked and grilled wings with 10 house made sauces.

We do take reservations, but not on our patio. Please call us at 519 204 9220 to make yours today. As a warning though…often, we are busy and do not get to the phone, if this is the case, leave us a message, but do try to call back!

If you have an event, birthday, anniversary, stagette…please call us whatever the celebration may be!  We can offer up a space for your event that will host 10-100 people, and in the summer, we add another 60 licensed patio seats.  Catering is also offered, and we usually waive any room fees for the sale of food and alcohol.   Our private room seats 20-25 people comfortably with the doors closed, and depending on how well you know each other, we can fit 30!  Ask for Mark at 519 204 9220 or email him at mark@themorrisseyhouse.com to discuss your function.

    • First come first serve. First question is at 7:30, usually have most seats filled by 7:15…as we have had about 16 teams out the last couple of weeks, we usually finish up at 9:45 or so.

    • Each and every Monday night- rain or shine, or even snow! Since we began, we have only taken one week off- I think more than anything so I could have a night away! So yes, each Monday in March we will be hosting quiz.

  1. Do you have plans to play much of the 2011 World Cup of Rugby? If so, do you have a schedule of what games you are showing and whether you have late (or VERY early!) hours for them? Thanks a lot!

    • The schedule is not very ‘bar’ friendly! of course we will have whatever games are on, but there are not a whole lot of games that will be on when we are open. Unlike the FIFA World Cup, I do no think that the government are going to extend hours! TSN and TSN2 will be showing all of the games, with a couple being shown on TSN.ca. We will be keeping our normal hours- so when a game starts at 1am, we will not be staying open until the completion of the game. The final is even on at 4am, which does mean that we will not be open for it! Sorry! here is a link to show you what TSN will be showing (and when) http://www.tsn.ca/rugby/feature/?id=47571

  2. Hello again –

Just wanting to know if the Morrissey House is once again planning to show the 6 Nations Rugby games LIVE, given it starts Feb 4-5, 2012. Craving some good rugby breakfasts as well! Thanks.

  4. Sorry, we have not been offered the game to show. Usually I would know by now, and as I have not heard from them, I think that means you should try to make other arrangements!
